With children grown, clients were eager to repurpose this play area and dog run as a terrace for entertaining and enjoying stunning views of Puget Sound.

A tall shrub border is replaced with permeable fencing and plantings to maximize view opportunities. A custom steel fire feature anchors the space, while brightly colored planters provide structure without obstructing views. Fine crushed gravel makes the terrace party-friendly and islands of dry-laid bluestone offer more intimate gathering spaces and seating options. Drought-tolerant plantings obviate the need for irrigation after plant establishment.
